BMW just released the first video of the new Vision ConnectedDrive Concept. The futuristic concept will make its world debut on March 1st at the Geneva Motor Show.
The all-electric Vision ConnectedDrive uses some design ideas from the previous Vision EfficienDynamics Concept. The two-seater roadster features typical lines: long bonnet, short overhangs and strong, bold front-end.
The layering design ideas can be seen both inside and outside the car, complemented by a vast array of technology innovations that might make their way into future BMW production vehicles.
At its core, the Vision EfficientDynamics concept is a sportscar in the BMW vein, with promised M-car performance levels. It’s the drivetrains that are the shockers: this particular vision sees a future BMW sportscar sporting a three-cylinder diesel plug-in hybrid powertrain. It’s a tour de force–at least in concept, since no automaker has yet produced a diesel hybrid, or a mass-market plug-in hybrid, not to mention a combination of the two.
