David Beckham may have played his final professional soccer game ever! David Beckham announced his retirement on Thursday, and this evening he played his final home game with his Paris Saint-Germain team. David has not yet revealed whether he will take the field for the team’s last match of the season next weekend, but this final moment on the Parc des Princes pitch was certainly treated as an official send-off celebration. David’s three sons, Brooklyn, Cruz, and Romeo, all stepped out onto the field with their dad and posed with the Ligue 1 trophy after the game. Victoria Beckham was up in the stands with Harper, decked out in a “Daddy” jersey, and David’s parents.
The soccer star was spotted looking a little teary-eyed as he played his final minutes, and afterward David spoke to the media, ”The emotion started kicking in — it was hard to run, let alone kick a ball. I still feel good, but I know it’s the right time.” His teammates also hoisted him in the air as the crowd cheered. This certainly won’t be the last we see of David, so hopefully this will leave more time for his many other projects, like underwear modelling.
