Queen Honors Mohammad AlShaya

More joy to Kuwait and Kuwaitis through its role models, Im so proud of his accomplishments, this last one is just heartwarming, more power to you, oh starbucks man, Frapps make me happy, HAH! Read on lazies:

“British Ambassador of Kuwait Michael Aron recently presented Mohammed Abdulaziz Alshaya with an honorary CBE in recognition of his outstanding services in developing the British-Arabic business relation.
Presenting the award on behalf of her Majesty the Queen, the Ambassador said that her majesty had appointed Alshaya to be an honorary Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in recognition of these services.

On his part, Alshaya expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Queen Elizabeth for granting him the honorary CBE, saying that “this reflects the depth of relations that the two countries enjoy at the political, economic and cultural levels, among others”. Mohammad Alshaya dedicated the honorary CBE to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and to his father, Abdulaziz, and the Alshaya family, without whom he would not have been able to make this achievement.

More power and success to those who are making a difference in the country, Hats off !

Community: GLTA

Hala from the GLTA has a message for you:

“GLTA a non-profit organization which stands for Give a Little Take A lot. Our main objective is to spread awareness on the importance of charity work in Kuwait through holding and organizing small charity events and involving ourselves in community service. We believe that if people give a little of their time and efforts to any one in need, they will get a lot of good things in return throughout their lives.

Our current project is holding a Carnival for KALD, Kuwait Association for Learning Differences; we named it KALD Carnival. It is a carnival for students with learning difficulties, ages from 8 to 17 years old . GLTA’s main responsibility is to arrange the event from A to Z. Therefore, we’re in need of young motivated volunteers to help us organize this event to the fullest. The volunteers do not have to be committed 24/7, if some attended one or two of our meetings and gave us some creative ideas for that day, this would be fairly enough. Each volunteer will received an official certificate of volunteering from Mrs. Amaal Al Sayer, the founder of KALD.

If anyone is interested in volunteering for KALD Carnival which will be held January 23, ’10 from 15:00 to 19:00, they can contact us at (+965) 99 00 3126 or Email us atGLTA.Charity@gmail.com.”

Monitored Blogs

My friends, bloggers and non bloggers have been talking about the latest issue targeting blogs being monitored and all.

The statement goes with something like this “Kuwait lawmakers seek to monitor blogs – some blogs content have become a threat to the national cohesion, and appealed to the parliament to endorse a proposal to monitor blogs, citing social and stability threats, Gulf News has reported”

My views ?

Why is everybody freaking out ? Whats the big deal ? let them monitor, let them check. My blog and most of the blogs I check are not politically involved, have nothing to do with THREATENING anyone or anything.

That being said, some political blogs get my “two thumbs up” sign and some are, umm, well, not. Then again who am I to judge ?

Since your living in this country, I guess the least you can do is respect your surroundings. Giving alot of power to the wrong person leads to chaos and disorder, LORD knows we all have had enough.

So yeah, these are my two cents.

If this rule applies, this is what I have to say to “BLOG CHECKERS”:

Check me, monitor me, I am a citizen of this country and will serve you as such, IF your intentions were noble.

Thank you Ansam
