On this rainy day, some of our early birds went walking to the training center while grabbing a hot meal on the way and others were almost late and wanted to grab some McD’s at the station but there simply wasn’t enough time especially with the rush hour and the queue at the train..
The first session of the day focuses on how firms can outperform their competitors and hence gain sustainable competitive advantage. It explores why what is inside the firm is argued to be critical to the achievement of superior performance.
The second session revolved around a case study of Pepsico Inc, which focuses on corporate-level strategy. It considers what is meant by corporate value logics and what the role of the corporate parent is.
Dr.Rajwani also encouraged participants to examine how corporate centers can add value to their portfolio of businesses, and the concept of corporate parenting. He introduced the Corporate Parenting Matrix as a tool to evaluate the composition of a corporate portfolio.
After the class Mr.Fahad Al-Fahad and the students enjoyed some juicy burgers at Byron. It’s an understatement to say that the burgers were awesome so let’s say that you got to try it yourself. We grabbed a cab right after and went back to the hotel.

Small To Big takes the first step to introduce businesspeople to a customized entrepreneurship course at King’s College London. Sixteen Kuwaiti businesspeople participated at the course that was fully sponsored by VIVA Telecom and organized by Pink Coffee Marketing & PR.
The course uses dynamic teaching methods to interact with participants. The course helped form a bridge between strategic ideas and action, taught participants how to deal creatively with difficult problems and tactical detail, and provided them the tools needed to develop a practical strategy framework for an organization or leadership team. Through discussions and interactive learning methods, the course helped participants challenge established thinking in a compelling and persuasive way while providing them the tools needed to deliver high growth strategy in live, dynamic situations. Most importantly, it gave them an understanding of how to formulate and implement a breakout strategy.
The organizing team from Pink Coffee included Dana Al Otaibi, Shamlan Al Bahar, and Maryam Aleisa. Fahad Al Fahad also joined STB as a representative from VIVA Telecom. We tried our best to make this a wonderful experience where participants would have practical academic knowledge while enjoying themselves at the beautiful city of London.

GulfRun will be having their second annual Charity Raffle during the GulfRun Carshow to raise money for the Hayat4Cancer Foundation.
We had a successful year with support of our readers, blogs, sponsors, and GulfRun participants, and we hope to make it an even better year.
