WEAR IT

Shahtoosh (also written Shatush) – a Persian word meaning “Pleasure of Kings” - was the name given to a specific kind of shawl, which was woven with the down hair of the Chiru or Tibetan Antelope, by the weavers of Kashmir. These shawls were originally very few and it took very skilled artisans to weave the delicate hair (which measured between 9 and 11 micrometres). These factors made Shahtoosh shawls very precious. Shahtoosh are so fine that an average size shawl can be passed through a wedding ring.
Its a very fashionable item to own no ? well, here is the breakdown.
“Ophidiophobia or ophiophobia refers to the fear of snakes. Care must also be taken to differentiate people who do not like snakes or fear them for their venom or the inherent danger involved.
A typical ophidiophobic would not only fear them when in live contact but also dreads to think about them or even see them on TV or in pictures.”
I FEAR THEM. Its actually a common fear amongst men. So there you have it, my fear, on the table.
Provoking street campaign which can be seen right now in Melbourne for the Australian Childhood Foundation.
For their ongoing campaign Stop Child Abuse Now they used child size mannequins to represent children suffering neglect.
The mannequins were placed in high traffic locations around the city and then a billposter was pasted over the top of the figure so only the feet and legs could be seen.
Words on the poster read, “Neglected Children are made to feel invisible.”
Earth Day, celebrated in the US on April 22, is a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth’s environment. It was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach in 1970 and is celebrated in many countries every year.
Earth Day proved popular in the United States and around the world. The first Earth Day had participants and celebrants in two thousand colleges and universities, roughly ten thousand primary and secondary schools, and hundreds of communities across the United States. More importantly, it “brought 20 million Americans out into the spring sunshine for peaceful demonstrations in favor of environmental reform.”
It is now observed in 175 countries, and coordinated by the nonprofit Earth Day Network, according to whom Earth Day is now “the largest secular holiday in the world, celebrated by more than a half billion people every year.” Environmental groups have sought to make Earth Day into a day of action which changes human behavior and provokes policy changes.
On the other hand, Disney has a documentary celebrating earth day through animals, flash your eyes on the trailer.
