Abdullah Interviews Rakan & Badder AlGhanim

A friend of mine, Hussain Al-Essa typed a really well written sophisticated intro for One Paint, I couldn’t argue with him, not one bit:
“The first thing you need to get your creative juices flowing is leg room. Some of you go out for a change of scenery but how about changing your environment to welcome random solutions and to organize your thoughts? No I am not talking a notepad or a sketchbook. Try a whole wall.
A message kids have been telling us with their crayons on creativity. After recently installing Idea Paint on my home office wall, I do love the freedom to both brainstorm and stay organized. Idea Paint is a paint that turns your wall into a whiteboard, just grab your marker and start mind mapping your upcoming projects. Suitable for home, work and school, the more space you have for your ideas the more good ideas you end up with. A solution for productivity, Idea Paint just might keep you away from the mundane. Urban Q8 recommends this product.”

That was one of of the many recommendations I came across on auntie google, don’t believe me, just google ONEPAINT yourselves and check the results.
Very happy to have Mr.Rakan & Badder AlGhanim both on board with us on p0ach.com where they’ll highlight info about the product, themselves and bits from here and there.
You know how we do it over here, we go light all the way.

Please introduce yourselves.
We are Rakan & Badder Al-Ghanim, I’m 30 & my brother is 27. We both went to university in Boston; I majored in Finance & Badder in Economics. We both worked in the financial sector for some time but decided to move on and join the family business. It was the best decision we’ve made, it gave us the freedom to explore our creative sides and that’s how we ended up with IdeaPaint in Kuwait.
Childhood flashes, a small one maybe ?
When we were kids we were always getting in trouble for writing on walls, chairs, desks; pretty much anywhere we weren’t supposed to.

What inspired you to tap into who you are now?
I guess it is our family; they’ve been very supportive & taught us not be afraid of making mistakes as long as we learn from them.
What differs you from the rest of the competition out there?
IdeaPaint is different, it can be applied to almost any surface and in turn transforms that surface into a reusable whiteboard that is 100% environmentally friendly and guaranteed not to chip, crack, and suffer from discoloration or performance deterioration for 10 years.
IdeaPaint has been applied in stores, restaurants, homes, schools, offices & hospitals so the possibilities for its use are endless. Additionally, any locally purchased non-permanent whiteboard markers can be used to write. I think that is what sets us apart from your regular paints. IdeaPaint gives you the opportunity truly express yourself with limitless boundaries.

What were the difficulties you faced and how did you overcome them?
IdeaPaint USA were very skeptical about giving the rights to their products to 2 complete strangers so it took about 2 years of convincing them that we were up to the job. We flew out to Boston (IdeaPaint is Boston based) and met with them several time before they agreed to work with us.
Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
In 5 years we’d like to see IdeaPaint in every classroom in Kuwait. We’d like to give every student, child, & adult in Kuwait the opportunity to express themselves anywhere they’d like. We’d like them to be as creative as they want and have the opportunity to channel those thoughts onto IdeaPaint. We want limitless creative opportunities because that’s what sets each & every person apart.

Throw something for p0ach readers !
Don’t be discouraged the first time someone says “no”. Be persistent but professional in your work. When we first hear about IdeaPaint it was though a TIME magazine article and we took a shot in the dark. The first time we reached out to IdeaPaint USA they didn’t return our call. I e-mailed and called until I got a hold of someone there and they still wouldn’t agree to talk. Badder and I persisted and spent 2 years trying to get our foot in the door. It finally worked when I walked into IdeaPaint’s offices in Boston without an appointment and sat down with them. That’s how we got to where we are today.

Hey ! thanks for sharing !
whats new?? they did what every other kuwaiti does.. import a foreign product for easy profit.
they should focus on creating their own brand/idea/product rather than simply take the easy way.
Your point is highly respected. Still, someone did something.
Maybe you’ll tell me about your contributions and I can highlight them here if you like.
Thanks for sharing ;D
i am still a student, not old enough (nor rich enough) to have any major contributions (yet).
all i am trying to say is that I want more fatima al othman and abdulrahman al zanki, and less elevation burger and cupcake home delivery.
I sensed sarcasm in your reply, never knew p0ach has a nasty side
Maybe you could have highlighted that instead of complaining ?
Im sure your last paragraph is unnecessary, I mean well. Always. Specially in contributions.
On that note, this platform still welcomes you now and in the future for whatever you wish to contribute or give back to the country.
Being rich, a student, major or minor contributor/provider should never be the way to look at things.
A kind word – A smile or even a silent prayer is beyond enough.
Zen master once said “If the only prayer you ever said was THANK YOU, know that its enough”.
Hi,
How can I reach them? the website doesn’t refe to the place where they sell it.
