Well Michael didn’t release anything significant in the 2000s. This list isn’t the Greatest Songs of All Time, but of the last 11 years. If that were not the case, that Michael would definitely be up on that list!
I’m disappointed at there not being enough Britney Spears songs. Baby One More Time is not even on the list, when it essentially changed pop music of the 2000s.
He released a full piece of art and one of his most underrated albums called “Invincible” in 2001, but he explained that it didn’t get enough support from Sony. Michael used the word “concpiracy” to describe the situation. Here:

In that album were some of his most memorable works. Butterflies and Speechless are just a few. You can listen to them and be the judge. I don’t understand how Miley Cyrus Made it and The King of Pop didn’t. Besides, I think MJ spent the last 11 years investing in something far more greater than making music… raising his babies <. Now that's a legacy that will live on and on.

It is very surprising list, they left out a lot of really great stuff.
