To Tawakul Karman,
You represent millions of ordinary Yemenis struggling for a new, just and free Yemen. I love the way your first reaction to the award was to dedicate it to all the Yemenis who have suffered and died for the cause of peace and justice.
I was thrilled to see that you had won the Nobel Prize. I recall watching an Al Jazeera documentary earlier this year of your struggles to build a peace movement for change. I was inspired and encouraged by your passion, your vision, and your energy. I loved the way your husband had the courage and strength to throw his support behind you.
May this award not distract you or cause difficulties in your work and within your relationships. I hope it will open doors of influence both in Yemen and around the world for you.
