p0ach’s New Baby: MacBook Air
*1st post using it*
This has got to be the best thing I bought myself in a long long time.
Ofcourse and without a hint of doubt, never will I ever review a gadget as notorious/as famous as this. Just type “Review Macbook Air 2011″ on google, a bundle of joy will jump out of the screen – just like vampires, it’ll glamor glamor glamor eyes and minds. HAH!
Wanted to take really good pics but Queen Anmaar was in the room singing and dancing to everything showcased in the bright bright month of Ramadan, definitely not so bright on TV. I’ll leave that for you to figure out.
I’ll point out the things I love most in comparison to the earlier Macbook Pro in hand. Wont be typing much, pictures say a lot.
Weight & Size
Very light, very thin indeed. It fits into anything, nearly.
Usage
Love the fact that that there are two USB outputs on both sides. A magnificent card reader to throw away unwanted extras Transferring your pics from your pretty precious cam.
Backlit keyboard “evenly” bright. Previous mac had some keys bit out of alignment for some reason.
Appreciate the instant ON screen, really practical.
Thunderbolt port, according to apple “It transfers data up to 12 times faster than FireWire 800 and up to 20 times faster than USB 2.0″ Hope they do something like that for iPads, iPods and iPhones.
No CD – No Problem
Installing apple’s office suite, iWork, was not a big deal. Knowing that I don’t have an Optical CD drive. What to do ?
I just enabled CD/DVD sharing from the giant iMac in the room, ran the CD in, then asked it permission for a go and voilla !
Everything ran wirelessly.
Small tip, make sure you don’t get fooled by the time it estimates till reading all the info is done. For instance, it gave me an indication that it’ll take 1 hour 45 minutes to send info. I found that odd, knowing that the size was under 100 MB.
What happened is after 20 – 25 minutes, the whole installation was done and the files were up and running. NEAT.
Battery
5-7 hours on this mini baby is impressive. Just kept thinking of the places to go without using any extra plugs. Finally.
Overall
As mentioned earlier, the intention is not to cover everything from a-z, specialists did that for you already.
This device is Über Über Über zexy and is worth every KD spent. Plus its the ultimate blogging machine, no doubt.

Out for 599 KD
Maybe more expensive than the price mentioned on Apple’s official website, however, the fact that you don’t have to follow up, shipping, handling, arabized keyboard and of course ordering it now and getting it later on the same day is definitely worth the price difference, to me. Not to mention BLINK’s follow up and amazing service.

Yeah, had a pro, i tend to travel a lot, carrying it + battery life were not great options, lets just say that, haha.
Plus, I have an iMac, if i really really need to do something tedious, it does the job.
This baby, however, is perfect, just the way it is.

Mabrook dude! I’ve got the previous model both the 11″ and 13″ don’t ask why hehe bs I had to have them both! Nice purchase o altho the price is a bit too much bs yalla el7emdella aham shay it’s here in your hands!
I heard the newer models out perform the faster macbook pros from the reviews. It’s a good thing though that I’d maxed out both the 11″ and 13″ so I’m not missing much with this update except the backlit and i5 processors
