Renovating Tips

Im revamping my bedroom on so many levels, yet the most important element that’s been on my mind is the parquet floors.

I know that this is a no brainer for many of you with taste/world exposure/all around/know it all/lovelies, STILL, I need you to choose, should I grab the light or dark wood floor ?

*im looking for something earthy, something I can mix with sea sand, shells and a nice flower bouquet on the side. Throw your cents at me, HAH!

I think your more of a lighter shade floor person. I personally think lighter floors are ashra7, and tend to go with what your looking for.

I’d definitely go for the darker shade, it’ll butch the room right up especially since you’re going to throw in some shells and flowers. Perfect equilibrium in my opinion. Good luck : )

go with light as dark wood would show dust very clearly

I’ve always wanted dark parquet floors.

It gives you a fierce lonely ranger in the cabin feeling. Or simply because it looks nice. :c

  13. Bu Yousef says:

Light for kitchens and dining rooms… Dark for living rooms and bedrooms. The white sheets give a clear contrast.

Colour is up to you – but it has to be natural wood! None of that pretend stuff :)

    Icksnay on the Parquet

    (hey… it rhymes! :D )

Parquet is a hassle to maintain with all the unavoidable scratches.

The scratches will show like headlights if they are on dark parquet.

    Think about it.

As An interior designer myself, I would recommend you go with a darker flooring. If u want something fashionable yet lasting ur best bet is using the natural walnut color which accents and furniture color you have and would look very elegant:)
