Monitored Blogs

My friends, bloggers and non bloggers have been talking about the latest issue targeting blogs being monitored and all.

The statement goes with something like this “Kuwait lawmakers seek to monitor blogs – some blogs content have become a threat to the national cohesion, and appealed to the parliament to endorse a proposal to monitor blogs, citing social and stability threats, Gulf News has reported”

My views ?

Why is everybody freaking out ? Whats the big deal ? let them monitor, let them check. My blog and most of the blogs I check are not politically involved, have nothing to do with THREATENING anyone or anything.

That being said, some political blogs get my “two thumbs up” sign and some are, umm, well, not. Then again who am I to judge ?

Since your living in this country, I guess the least you can do is respect your surroundings. Giving alot of power to the wrong person leads to chaos and disorder, LORD knows we all have had enough.

So yeah, these are my two cents.

If this rule applies, this is what I have to say to “BLOG CHECKERS”:

Check me, monitor me, I am a citizen of this country and will serve you as such, IF your intentions were noble.

Thank you Ansam

Its not that, its the whole “freedom of speech” thingy.

  2. Hind says:

    Ya I agree with N.
Obviously everyone should respect the country+ culture they live in… but the internet should be free and open to all to express their views and opinions about certain topic and aspects of life in Kuwait INCLUDING politics.
What are they afraid of anyway? People actually thinking TWICE before voting for a certain someone?
And besides…if their going to start with blogs whats next? Monitoring dewaniyas?

Ansam i swear to you I know what your saying.

Here is the thing, lets define Freedom shall we ?

Its something like this: Freedom is the act in which one can express himself freely AS LONG AS HE DOES NOT HURT/DISTURB/DISTRACT others.

I dont think that some bloggers are going with/by that rule, no ?
