Review: Blackberry Bold 9700

Our new friends, Orbit Fone are beyond amazing with their generosity. Aside from them being our new sponsors, they were super kind to send us their latest addition of phones, the all new Blackberry Bold 9700 as a gift. Unbranded, Multilingual, arabized keyboard. EATABLE !

Here is the thing, I have been playing around with it now for three days and I have alot of things to say, yet I’ll just tag along the things I think you should know about since alot of you are already familiar with the Blackberry family. I have to point out though that this is the “take no mess” model, Why ?

Because all the previous models were playing chess with us in statements like these” This model has wifi but no 3G “or “This model has 3G but no Wifi”

Girl keep that mouth shut, cut the crap and give me what I want, give me the whole deal. This baby has 3 damn G, Wi freakin Fi Oh and edge on the side just incase yall need it, Kapeesh ?

Being a corporate boy in the zexy heat of this country gives you an extra push to perfect your work, get it done quickly & efficiently. Well, the new 9700 gives ou that obviously and more, elegance.

Look, the first thing you’ll notice is how utterly elegant it fits your hands. Its a very huggable phone, yes ? I say that while feeling the leather on the back, HOLY SMOKES, it just fits and feels innate/natural.

Lets move along to the trackpad. I never complained about the old trackball, never. When I tried this I thought “ok what the hell ? was I that robotic ?”, it just moves smoothly, no sound, no drama.

Do not be fooled by how normal “you think” the interface is, its completely different and I’ll tell you why/where:

- Keyboard is amazingly placed in a pyramid-like shape depending on where your hands are. I cant explain it, you have to touch/feel it to know what im saying. The rubber used on this babe is flawless. Makes your fingers sink into it. Superb !

- The screen is gorgeous. I dont know how many pixels they’v added into it but it just feels great and its easy on the eyes.

- Batteries ? The best they have is placed in this device. Look I wont get into specs and all, you can google all that mess, hear me out though, I charged it a full charge once, then I went to work, on the way, I activated bluetooth connection/synced it with my car, was connected all the way back and forth from/to home. Received/sent emails from two accounts, BBM, messages, phone calls, played with the settings all day long, games, viewed work documents, by night time, I went home and gave the batt indicator a double look with a “What The Hell” mouth pause. The battery was still 68% available! Thank you LAWWWD !

- Speakers are wonderful. If your like me, have an mp3 song as your ringtone, you’ll love what you hear. That also applies on built in sound effects. The sound is crisp and powerful.

- The preference on each section, say, messages, media, options are slightly different with a more user friendly atmosphere.

- When you snap a pic/video it gives you the option of sharing it via multiple portals with different size options. i;e: Original size, large, medium and small, all mentioned with a measurement of what size the image gain/lose if modified.

- I loved the “TRY IT” option when you modify a profile (normal, silent, vibrate), you dont have to throw back to stone age stupidity no more.

- The camera will be used like crazy specially now that it has a “close up” & “normal” focus. SUPERB ! Video is just as good as the previous model in my opinion.

- I realized that life should be easy when you install/uninstall your sim card on the curve model, it was not. On the bold, however, everything is a breeze from the place you slip your sim and memory card till the battery’s shrine. LOVED IT !

- Since I travel alot, I found that the semi-international power plug kit very useful for my upcoming journeys.

- Media section is now upgraded with a cool new look and more applications around it.

- While plugging the USB/Charging, you wont be bothered by the plug no more, its located on the top left side of the phone so texting & calling are still in full affect. SWEET !

- I heard alot of malfunction issues with many folks using the same model who got their hands on it when it first came out. I keep telling yall to wait for a more stable release, this is it, this is the stable model without the insane/tedious drama rama.
