Abdullah Interviews Osama Al-Othman

My Favorite Hobby Foorball - camp nou barcelona

Encouraging the youth of the country, pushing them ahead, bringing in some light to their daily lives is part of what I live for now. No wonder why/how much I am excited to have today’s guest to you dear readers.

I have always wanted to have this team on p0ach.com. always always always. Oh and not to mention, they are our new platinum sponsors, the “Secret” keeps working with me every freakin day so keep giving your love to me cuz I didnt get/have enough yet. On a serious note though, Maachla.com was one of the first kuwaiti online names that my brain remembers, I got this thing for Kuwaiti slang, having Maachla on the menu definitely makes it a name that stands out.

I never met the guy, Osama Al-Othman, however, ladies, he is *ahem* single, extremely polite, an engineer and I finally got him on board. He is very kind and sweet, even I was shy communicating with him and felt extremely vulgar in comparison, HAH!

Putting that on the side, Osama and his team established this project back in November 2008, success is a small word to describe it, lemme hit you up with some facts, you see, aside from it being an amazing virtual portal for you to place your orders and get them delivered with no extra charge, you have to realize that Maachla’s been awarded the best design in P2BK exhibition and was the winner of the best Kuwaiti website design by H. H. Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award.

Ofcourse every thing has a story board to it, I suggest you dig in, get to know Osama and his success story better.

Shall we ?

H. H. Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award

Osama, Speak.
My name is Osama Mohammad Alothman, Im 26 years old, interested in traveling, playing football, Photography and Scuba diving.

I got my bachelor degree from Kuwait University majoring in Electrical engineering. Afterward, I joined Kuwait fund training program for fresh graduate engineers, the aim of the program is to provide newly graduate Kuwaiti engineers with skills and knowledge needed for employment in the private sector, which I highly recommend for any new graduate engineer.

At the meantime, I’m working in one of the local banks, projects department as a projects analyst. Also I’m a partner in Maachla Co. and currently I’m planning to get my MBA degree in the UK to gain experience and to enhance my communication skills.

My old Hobby- sea

Childhood flashes ?
I spent my childhood like any ordinary kid, playing around, spending the weekends in Chalets with family and friends. On the other hand, I was a very quiet kid unlike now. Active, passionate and an achiever, these features are what symbolize me, in my opinion.

Maachla Team in Ba9mety kuwaitia - exhibition

Ok, so tell me more about Maachla.com, what inspired you to tap into who you are now  ?
Maachla.com is owned by five ambitious Kuwaitis Ahmad Khazal, Rashed Khazal, Bader Alrujaib, Mohammad Albahar and myself. It was established in November 2008 after one and a half years of pre-operating works!
Maachla Co. offers free home-delivery services for residential markets through our online and tele-business bases. It is dedicated to our community in providing a unique and a highly standard level of delivery services of co-ops’ products through our online- and tele-business concepts. Maachla.com operates 7 days a week from 9am to 12am.
Our aim is to encourage Kuwaiti youths to contribute in community services, interpret their ideas into real and successful businesses.
It’s Worth mentioning that Maachla has been awarded the best design in P2BK exhibition and was the winner of the best Kuwaiti website design in H. H. Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award.

What were the challenges that came along the way ?
In any new project, difficulties and challenges must occur. Since Maachla project started in Kuwait, I’m going to mention some of the major obstacles that any new small business would face.
The first challenge was the Government sector routine (paper works). Regrettably, It took as more than 5 months just to establish and finish our legal work for the company which cost us a long period of time! That will let any new investor give-up on his investment in Kuwait and run out!

The second challenge, which I categorized as a minor issue resembles in the lack of public awareness in Kuwait towards internet business (e-commerce) world. I wish that the level of awareness increases by time. I can see this change happening, specially these days, yet I find it happening slowly.

What differs you from the rest of the competition out there?
In my point of view, the main indicator of success in any new project is how you maintain your customers, since maintaining a customer is much harder than adding-up a new one.
Our management focuses on the employees morals, customer’s handling which will be reflected on the clients satisfaction level.

Support system, everybody has one, whats yours ?
Thank God, I have a strong, supportive and loving family who owns the credit for me being a successful person.

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now ?
To dream a goal is not difficult to do. This was the starting point only.
Five years from now, I see Maachla taking the lead in Kuwait and extending its facilities through G.C.C and the Middle East countries with a comprehensive range of services that would level up to our clients’ brand identity needs.

Alright Osama, its been amazing, having you hang around on p0ach.com’s field, throw something from you to the readers !
Thank you Abdullah for giving me this chance to be interviewed in this great blog and I wish to share some of my favorite quotes with P0ach.com readers:

-Every wrong decision is in fact a correct decision but taken at a wrong time so my friends don’t regret… don’t stop… keep walking ahead.

-If you never take chances in life youll miss out on the best things.

-I have learned more from my mistakes than from my successes.

-There are no mistakes in life, only lessons.

-The greatest risk in life is not taking one.

-Never “expect” anything, just cherish the moment

Wish u all the best…Osama Alothman.
