Alright, so its saturday and EID is a day away. I guess the first thing that would pop in your brain after having the perfect “freekum drees” is MUSIC.
I dont understand, comprehend or digest how people are able to live without MUSIC. I dont.
My guests today are Omar Al-Qaderi, a dear friend of mine, whom I met last year and he was just the sweetest thing, very open and sincere. Zeyad, however his instrumental partner who is known for his friendliness too ( I did my research, HAH!)
My favorite thing to do is to support the small business industry here in Kuwait. Small businesses are a trend, growing strongly. I guess the best thing to do is to support everybody.
The boys have their own brand called Zeeq’s iPod, particpated in different local events, get to know them more yourselves.

Alright boys, introduce yourselves.
My name is Omar Ali Al Qadiri , Im 25 years old. Main intrests : Football , Music , Having as much fun as i can with my friends. Bachelors degree in Business Administration – Major : Marketing. Employee in Kuwait National Petroleum Company – HR – Job Evaluation.
Zeyad Hamada , 24 years old , Main intrests : Water sports , Music. Diploma in Business Administration – Major : Management.
Employee in Ministry of Finance – Tax Department.
What inspired you to tap into who you are now ?
I guess its all about the state we are in. You see, nowadays, life needs another income, other than our work’s salary. Today you need to save such an amount of money for your future. Getting married, buying a car, buying a house ..etc. That was the first motive for me and zeyad.
Furthermore, zeyad uploads music to our friends ipods in the old days. So one day I told him why dont we make a small business “Uploading music for people’s ipods” and profit from it in a reasonable way ? and that was our start. We had some struggles here and there like getting all the songs in a neat database. We were worried about the other music stores, that they would spread a bad reputation about us but thankfully, that was not an issue.
Advertising for our business was easy thanks to portals like the “Blackberry, Facebook & email communication”. At the begining we weren’t organized in our work very well, but now everything is fine, obviously things come in naturally after all the fuss and hiccups we faced, hot through and over.
Another point is that me and zeyad love music, we listen to all kinds of genres, artists, east west, all mixed and various, all music, all the time. Not to mention the joy of live music, which is somewhat part of the youth’s culture, “Samraat” , we enjoy that alot with friends and most certainly have loads of fun.
What differs you from the rest of the competition out there?
The difference is our price and our service. The idea is simple “1GB = /500 Fils Only” and we deleiver it to the customer wherever he is. The music stores in Kuwait cheat alot in pricing , they charge the customers “5KD for 1GB” and that price is really High!
Support ? family & friends ?
We’ve had support from everyone. Our families and friends, they all want to help us in every way they can. They talk about our business to everyone they know they tell us about the latest songs they know about. As they say in a marketing point of view, “Word of mouth” is one of the best marketing tools these days and thats what our friends and families are doing. We would love to tell them all that we love them for what they are doing and send them a big Thank you for their efforts.
Where do you see yourself 5 years from now ?
Having our own music store. Uploading music to all Kuwaity ipods. Being known all over Kuwait and the Gulf for our work.

We would like to advice all “p0ach” readers that , if you have a hobby or an idea that you think is beneficial for the Kuwaity Society and yourself. Discuss it with your friends and family and get their ideas and feedback about it. If they like it , do it ! Implement it ! Advertise for your idea as soon as you can in any way you can. We know that Kuwaiti Youth, boys and girls, have alot of productive ideas to offer this country. All they need is some motivation, some advice and we will all see that we have a bright future for Kuwait through their ideas and businesses.

That’s a very neat idea! One thing that’d be a deal-breaker for me: Are the songs organized with the album’s name, and artwork? Not just a picture of the artist? Because I sometimes take some time to find the actual artwork, and it’s a bit of a hassle.
