To make life easier, we need to learn how to give people the benefit of the doubt and think of excuses for their behaviors. This comes with practice. Actually i used to really be sensitive about these things. i used to come home after every gathering and cry like a baby because i couldn't say a word when people says "ugly" words to me and it hurt me a lot! But now it doesn't really affect me! because, in times, i  dont like things either! But in the end it's their choice! and as you said I just let "words  passes through me!" Not effecting me!  i always say to my girls "lawla ekhtelaf el athwaq la barat elsela3"!  i believe in this strongly ..
