actually no, you’re not quite there yet(the buddha wasn’t a believer).
although i really like your take on the book and see you haven’t misinterpreted the basic principles of buddhism.
however, you need to understand that he didn’t need to seek enlightenment if he was a believer.
his teachings are actually the polar opposite of islamic teachings and the main reason for this is he does not acknowledge the existence of god.
further, buddhism isn’t a religion.
it does not dictate or preach or command people to worship.
it simply educates people on how to be the best they can be and refrain from the obvious evils and ignorant customs.
i hope this clears any misconceptions-im buddhist

Most sources view him as a non believer. He was.

Please realize that we are talking about 1000+ years of unidentified sources putting things together that are non sense.

As I said, there is great “unknown to man” wisdom why the Quran didnt mention all messengers.

I think there is nothing wrong in enlightening one’s self about other religions or anything for that matter.. ilislam 3umra ma mina3 il3ilm as long as you have the right intentions and understanding. i think buddha’s life is pretty interesting, his modesty did lead him to the right direction, but unfortunately i dont think he believed in God. and therefore i cannot agree with you that he’s a messenger. Maybe he was just a wise man who tried to understand the universe, but unfortunately never read the quraan

Ur very inspiring. I think the fact that you stated your views with confidence but without arrogance, with honesty but without “sugar coating”, is so eloquent-specially with such a sensitive subject. U said things in plain vanilla and they stood out.
In addition to what you mentioned- I guess some individuals fear that enlightenment means betrayal to themselves and their beliefs. The way I see it, enlightenment would only mean betrayal if i am not myself confident of my beliefs. Otherwise, enlightenment only reinforces what I already believe in because it gives 1 very important thing: PERSPECTIVE.
maybe i didnt express myself very clearly bas i know u’ll get what i mean
