My dear readers, she has graced my heart as a big sister and the blog as an exclusive contributor. She is a local superstar already, to me, known as THE QUEEN OF COOKIES, in my book.
This spot has been blessed with the community’s acceptance and trust, I really appreciate that, specially women. Today’s guest is no exception, she, thankfully, agreed to do this interview, gave alot of insightful information about her shop, family and herself that all beam with love and a realistic approach root which I know my readers can relate to.
I have been fortunate enough to feature her wok here on the blog many times before. However, never was satisfied until I let her in here herself, asking her questions, knowing stuff about the shop, how she thinks, how she came up with the concept and all. Also, a sneak peak about her adorable family, her brothers and wonderfully supportive husband and daughter.
Ofcourse, I have said this before, I’ll say it one more time, she puts the G in generous and K in kind. Sent me dozens of cookies, never the same, always different, exclusive stuff. My dear, thanking you is not an option now, I hope this spotlight pays off a bit of your tremendous generosity.

Nouf, introduce yourself to everyone !
Nouf AlMulaifi is my name, I am a mother, wife, working and a business woman. I am blessed with an amazing husband and a beautiful daughter. I graduated from KUwait University, College of Business Administration and I am currently working in the Government Sector.
Reading is my passion, I also love to travel and discover new places. Spending time with my family and friends is a major cause of delight in my life. Likewise, spending time in the kitchen and experimenting with new flavors and recipes gives me great joy.
What inspired you to start The Cookie Bag, and where did the name inspiration come from ?
The Cookie Bag was one big coincidence it was not anything that I have planned for or wanted to do. Even though I am a cookie lover and was are always looking for the perfect cookie, it never occurred to me to try out and bake it, until one day my daughter came to me and suggested that we bake cookies! So the search for the perfect cookie recipe started and I just kept on experimenting and trying out different recipes and modifying until I found the one.
The naming of The Cookie Bag came as a result of a suggestion from my aunt, when I first started selling the cookies I packaged them in brown paper bags hence the name the cookie bag. when my aunt suggested the name I liked the fact that it was simple and easy to remember. And when I changed the packaging to a box it didn’t matter since the box came in a bag! So there you have it, the cookie bag.
Who designed the logo ?
The person who designed the logo is a family member who is very talented, she is a freelance graphic designer. Her name is Nadine and if anyone is interested in contacting her they can just email the cookie bag.
What differs you from other competitors ?
I don’t like to compare us with competitors since I am sure that they are all unique in their own way, but what makes The Cookie Bag unique too is that we try to come up with flavors that are different. Our cookies are very chewy without having to heat them, they will stay that way up to 3 days. They are always freshly baked, we do not sell cookies that were baked a day before, freshness and quality is an essential part of our policy.
What role did your family and friends play in your success; any specific ways in which they helped you ?
My family and friends were the reason I started The Cookie Bag. They were my first customers and they encouraged me to start the business. Since my husband (Mohammed Al-Faris) has been my main supporter in everything I do in life I turned to him to become my business partner, I knew that without his help I will not be able to run it on my own. He handles the financial and managerial issues, thank God for that! He has been amazing with everything.
My family and friends have been of great support and help, they encouraged me from day one and tasted every flavor I baked and were great with giving me their feedback. My brothers have been great in helping me out whenever i needed help, they were always with us when we participated in exhibitions, they are excellent sales people 
I hear you have some new things planned for Ramadan ?
Yes we do, I’m introducing two new flavors, the date with cinnamon cookies as well as the rahash cookies, perfect for an after ftoor delicacy. We also offer a cookie trifle which we debuted on your blog a while back with layers of chocolate sauce, pieces of cookies, and cream…absolutely heaven sent and we believe its going to be a big hit in Ramadan.
Other than the Ramadan Flavors, what do you offer?
So far, The Cookie Bag has 12 flavors but there are more on the way.
Butterscotch and Coconut – When you first bite in, you can taste the sweet unique flavor of butterscotch that literally melts in your mouth. Towards the end, the coconut flakes take over.
Brownie – Do you love eating brownies but just can’t seem to finish them because they’re so rich? Then this bite-sized cookie is an original that you might want to try. It’s a best seller.
Chocolate Chip – Another bestseller, who can resist the charm of a classic such as chocolate chip, soo chewy you wont believe it
Double Chocolate – The regular chocolate chip isn’t chocolaty enough for you? Go for Double!
White Chocolate and Macadamia –Velvety white chocolate and crunchy macadamia will sweep you off your feet.
Oatmeal and Cinnamon – A traditional cookie that is also healthy
Mocha – Coffee lovers everywhere will be thrilled to know that they can sleep in late and skip the coffee. Grab a Mocha cookie instead.
M&M’s – Got a kid that’s having a birthday party soon? M&M cookies are a must-have.
Plain – Too many to choose from? Can’t decide? Try the plain and take it from there.
Coffee- Coffee lovers rejoice, another one for you!
Peanut butter – new addition to the list..soft and chewy with both peanut butter and peanut butter chips,,double the flavor
Chocolate Chip & Toffee- new addition.. All the great flavors of a chocolate chip with a caramel twist
Where do you see yourself 5 years from now ?
Hopefully, we would like to expand the business to include more customers like catering to cafes and restaurants, in general to have a larger market share, as well as expanding to other countries in the Gulf area.

I Have a DREAM that all kuwaities skip all those big,chunky, and non kuwaiti stores & businesses here in q8, and instead go for the small kuwaiti businesses to be there main & only life needs supplier.
